Whoof on the Wharf – Origin Story

One thing we’ve learned from the pandemic: the pets we spend our nights with, are our best friends. Tried and true, providing comfort, solace, companionship. Dedicated and loving. I love spending time with my dogs, and I know others do too.

While kayaking has been a treat for me and my family, I always felt guilty leaving my pooches at home. They’re part of the family too. Once we figured out the best way to get them into a kayak, they had as much fun as we did!

I knew other people had to have the same desire to share different activities with their dogs, other than taking them to a park, or running with them along the beach. That’s where Whoof on the Wharf started.

We searched for the perfect spot, and found this great location on the South River, right next to the Pier Restaurant, but with enough room to enjoy some different activities.

“I have found that when you are deeply troubled, there are things you get from the silent devoted companionship of a dog that you can get from no other source.”
